Here are key details of how FHD works.
- Expert websites (or other media sources) are
reviewed every week to identify specific predictions.
Two key points here. First, FHD captures only
predictions that are specific enough to quantify
the performance that a fantasy footballer would
expect if the advice were followed. Second,
although you can view prediction summaries, you
cannot see the actual predictions (e.g., the text,
audio, or video of what the experts actually said)
because that is copyrighted material, and we completely
respect that. In fact, whenever an expert's
name is listed, it is linked directly to their site
where you can view the actual predictions.
- FHD has identified the most popular and most
used fantasy football experts, and we are open to including others.
If you know of an expert that you would like included
(or if you are an expert who would like to be included),
simply submit the expert name and website from the
Who We're Tracking
page. As one further step to ensure that there
are no negative issues associated with expert rankings,
experts can request to not be included in FHD
- Once expert predictions are captured, they are
categorized as Stud, Value, or Bench picks, depending
on the historical performance of the player being
projected.
- Prediction type, predicted performance, player
type, and actual player performance are analyzed
using FHD proprietary algorithms to determine the
FHD Expert Accuracy Score (EASTM).
The EAS algorithms include logic to ensure that
experts are ranked accurately and fairly.
For example, if an expert predicts a relatively
high level of performance for a player, and the
player actually exceeds that prediction, the expert
is not penalized for not being accurate. Also,
as mentioned previously, experts do not get credit
for advising you to play those NFL players that
everyone starts no matter what. As a result,
the EAS is a representation of how well experts
predict the performance of players that matter most
- the ones you actually need help with.
-
The
weekly EAS for all experts is displayed on the
FHD Fantasy Expert Rankings graph, separated
by the overall EAS for all experts. Those
that performed better than the overall average for
that week are colored green, and those that performed
below the average are colored yellow.
- Fantasy football experts are ranked in order of performance for
that week. Also displayed is the overall ranking
for each expert (season-to-date) and the season
high ranking. The graph also shows how each
expert performed specifically on value and sleeper
picks.
- You can view week-to-week performance for each
expert by hovering over the Overall ranking number
on the main Expert Ranking graph.
- The top expert for every week is featured as
the FHD Expert of the Week on the FHD Home
Page. Also featured on the Home Page is the
Good Call of the Week.
- The Top 10 experts for each week are captured
on the FHD Weekly Top Ten page and are sent
an email congratulating them on their performance
and giving them a custom logo to display on their
website as evidence of their expertise.
- Users can click on any graph bar or cell to
see a summary of the predictions made by that expert.
They can also click on the name of an expert to
go directly to that expert's website.
- Users can launch the FHD Control Panel
to filter the rankings to a specific expert or source
(a source - such as ESPN.com - can include multiple
experts), a specific week, expert type, or player
position.
- FHD subscribers can take the ultimate step of
finding out which experts are historically best
at predicting the performance of players on their
team using the "My Players" feature.
- Finally, and maybe most impressively, FHD offers
the IPPSTM
(Individual Player Prediction Summary).
The IPPS, which evolves over the week, lets you
view a summary of what experts are predicting for
the upcoming week for the specified player.
The bottom line is that you won't be able to find
this level of analysis and help with selecting and
utilizing Fantasy Football Experts. Combined
with FHD's whole new way to play
FFL, FHD provides the ultimate FFL resource.
