The NEW Way to Play Fantasy Football

Welcome to FHD Precision LeaguesTM, a whole new and exciting way to play FFL!

In a traditional Fantasy Football league, you act as an owner, general manager, or head coach.  You obtain players through the draft and via waiver wire transactions and trades, and set your lineup.  Other than being changed by these transactions, you have essentially the same core team all year, with a few key players that you're heavily relying on.

There are two problems.  First, fantasy football hasn't really changed since it started.  There have been tweaks here and there, but the essence of it hasn't changed.  Now don't get us wrong - all of us here at FHD still play fantasy football the traditional way and enjoy it.  But it has its drawbacks (see below) and, truth be told, most of us are ready for something new.  FHD brings it.

Second problem:  Traditional FFL is most exciting at draft time and, unless you're at or near the top of the standings, for a few weeks after that.  The problem occurs when key players are injured or don't play well, and you're not able to compensate, usually because there is no suitable alternate or someone beat you to the punch.  Or sometimes, a player emerges and you just weren't able to pluck the waiver wire as fast as someone with more time (think Marques Colston).

What happens is that many very good fantasy football players end up in the bottom part of their leagues because of circumstances beyond their control, and they lose interest.  FFL is no longer fun, and the whole FFL community suffers.

With FHD'S Patent-Pending Precision LeaguesTM, these problems are eliminated - you're the expert, and FFL is fun again!  Each week, everyone in your league is "dealt" a set of NFL players.  (Each league member is dealt a different set of players, and the players being dealt can even be customized.)  Your job is to predict the performance of these NFL players better than your opponents.  It's new and exciting, and there are huge advantages to playing FFL the FHD way.

  • It's fun, exciting, and challenging - it might take a bit more thinking, but it's worth it if you're up to it.  If you're not already an expert, you will become one!

  • You're not at the mercy of a few key players getting injured or not playing up to expectations.  You're also not at the mercy of the bye week or the waiver wire.  It's a new challenge every week!

  • You spend more time doing the fun things about FFL - the extra time you might spend analyzing match-ups for different players is offset by not having to constantly monitor waiver wires and trade offers and deal with injuries.

  • You get a fresh start every week - you don't have to worry about making a mistake in the draft, not being able to track the waiver wire, or key players being injured.  All you have to do is be an expert.  FHD play involves head-to-head match-ups, so it's certainly possible that players can end up hopelessly in the bottom of the league standings.  But if that happens, it's more likely to be because of lack of effort or skill than something happening beyond your control.  The good news though, is that with FHD you can get into another league at any time (see Bottom Feeder Leagues below).    And if that's not enough, FHD will offer Playoff Leagues so you can play FFL during the actual NFL playoffs (see below).

  • There is no draft - so you can quickly and easily start or join a FHD Precision League anytime of the year, including mid-season when maybe it's no longer interesting.
  • You don't need 8-10 people.  Because of the unique design of Precision Leagues, you can start a league with as little as 2 people.

  • FHD is the only place you can find Fantasy Expert Rankings, as well as other excellent resources for performing research and analysis so you can do the best job at being an expert and projecting player performance.

  • FHD offers "Bottom Feeder" Leagues, a fun way to regenerate interest in FFL when things aren't going so well.  These leagues are for those who have lost interest in their traditional FFL team(s) during the course of the year because they are low in the standings, but still want the excitement of FFL.  Because of the way FHD Precision Leagues are designed, these players can jump right into a new FHD league at any time of the year and start fresh.

  • FHD offers a way to play FFL during the actual NFL playoffs - with the unique design of FHD Precision Leagues, you will be able to play FFL during the NFL playoffs by participating in FHD Playoff Leagues.  You will be able to instantly turn your regular-season FHD Precision League into a Playoff league (starting fresh), or create (or even join) a new one.
